Maxons & Dixons
|
Our sweets are manufactured using tried and tested methods and the highest quality ingredients - cane and beet sugar, glucose syrup, colours and flavours. The techniques and equipment used has not altered much over the last 50 years. Unlike some of our competitors, we still manufacture in the "old fashioned" way, both over direct heat and using steam / vacuum processing and by manufacturing small batches of approximately 40kgs. Quality of the end product is paramount. That, and the degree of flexibility that this gives us is one of the reasons why we have been able to thrive. Unlike many of our competitors who manufacture high volume products, but where all of the products are little more than one shape, we are able to produce, as standard, the traditional products in their traditional shapes. We are able and happy to manufacture bespoke products above and beyond our "standard" products listed below - in fact most shapes, sizes, flavours and colours can be accommodated. We are committed to removing all artificial colours from our Maxons and Dixons branded boiled sweets. Jesmona branded sweets have never contained artificial colours. We have been working towards this goal over the last few months, and have now almost completed the project. Our products are available in clear plastic jars (weight dependent on product) and 3.18kg (7lb) polythene bags. Some are also available in tins, and newly designed 120g bags. Our products are sold under three main brands. Click on the links (left) for details on each range. We are frequently approached by people that have grown up eating our sweets and have moved away from the heartlands, who ask us where they can buy Maxons sweets now. It is often difficult to answer this as much of our sales is through wholesalers, so we do not know who the end retailers are. We also produce own label confectionery for many regional wholesalers and for specialist labels, heritage centres and prestige department stores, as well as for export to Europe, the USA and Australia. This is a growing sector of the market and we welcome the opportunity of discussing with you your confectionary needs.
